People, apparently, buy from people. That being the case then perhaps knowing a little more about me may help you decide whether to book our gorgeous vintage VW Splitscreen barista van for your event.  I have always had a passion for cool retro cars.  In fact I have rather a large collection of cool motors, much to my wife's dissatisfaction.  I really love visiting car shows, and generally being surrounded by classic motors.  Oh, and I also love coffee.

 

High on my list of new 'toys' has always been a VW Splitscreen, but of course they are so expensive.  So one night over a beer or three, I came up with the crazy idea of combining my interests in classic cars, car shows/festivals and coffee into a business where I could justify the purchase of such an iconic classic, by making it pay for itself at events, selling delicious artisan barista coffee along with sweet treats.

 

So, the search was on to find a cheap (ish) base vehicle to convert into a coffee van.  I failed... in that rather than buying a cheap do-er-upper, I ended up buying perhaps one of the most expensive VW Splitscreen panel vans in the UK.  The benefit though was that she was already fully converted into a high output (she's got two x 2 group espresso machines) coffee van, and boy oh boy, what a high end concours standard she is.  The bus is lined inside with quilted steel so is super easy to keep clean, and has a cool 1950's surfboard diner theme (real surfboards costing several £thousand - no shortcuts taken with this build).  Sometimes I think she is way too nice to be a 'work' vehicle.  Its certainly one you would be immensely proud to host at your event.

So fast forward to now, and the VW coffee van is making me happy and is earning her keep. It is probably one of the best classic coffee vans ever built and has been featured on the front cover of magazines such as VolksWorld Camper (see magazine front cover photo above).  So what did VolksWorld have to say about my coffee van?  Well they simply found it to be one of the best conversions they have ever seen, writing that "We have all seen attempts at getting this right before and we may have looked at them and thought 'right, they tried' But with this Bus, it's just right, as Goldilocks once said."
